I meant to have this post out several hours ago. Or even yesterday. Problem is, I seem to have this small problem with procrastination.
It's not just writing blog posts, either. It's homework assignments, bill payments, and lots of other things. I have a tendency to let things wait until the last possible minute.
At the moment, I'm trying to get a car before I leave town in a week and a half. I've had all summer to do it, it just didn't seem urgent until about a week ago. There's a project that was supposed to be done a couple of days ago, and it's still not done. Things like that.
It's not usually that I don't want to work on what I need to do, I just get so caught up in getting distracted that I never really get around to it. Then all of a sudden, I realize that I'm almost out of time, and I start working like crazy on it (which in turn leads me to neglect the assignments that are due next week rather than tomorrow).
I don't know exactly what happens. I think "I'm just going to [check Facebook, see what's happening in the comics I follow, get on [some computer game]] for just a minute, and then I'll get to work." Then that minute turns into hours. Or it's even more subtle. "I'm going to get on Youtube to put on some music to listen to while I work on my assignment," and then I see a recommended video about something that looks really cool, and suddenly I've spent multiple hours clicking on various related videos.
Or books. Books are bad too, especially good stories that I haven't read before. "Just one more chapter," repeated multiple hundreds of times, is a real time waster.
Anyhow, I'm not sure what the point of all of this is, except maybe to show that I'm not perfect by any means. And I didn't really know what else to post about, because I've been so busy finishing up other things that I have been putting off. So...yeah.
I feel like I should be sticking with this until I can come up with a good point, but I have more things that need done, and more getting distracted to try not to do. So I guess I'll just leave off here. Maybe I'll come up with something and edit it in.

EDIT: Well, I still don't have a cool lesson, but I did manage to get a car and get some paperwork sent off.
